Further Detective Work

I may be having faaar too much fun with this character. Here's some more attempts to narrow him down, and also to start injecting some kind of style. I aiming to inject some kind of vulnerability and craven. I think that the upper middle and lower left do the best job of this. He's a difficult character to capture, everything about his style needs to scream "NOIR DETECTIVE", while his posture and mannerisms tell a different story of delusion and cowardice.

Again, thoughts?

  1. 9I agree with the bottom left character. You immediately feel empathy for him because his posture looks so depressing, hunched shoulder) also makes him look vulnerable~

This is great no complaints here~

  2. Hi

I'd be a little cautious here. Seems like the design is starting to cross a line between hero and sidekick /goon. It also reminds me of Tor Johnson's character in Plan 9 from Outer Space. Perhaps a little too fat and clumsy for a character who is a good cop (albeit only on the surface).

  3. Hmm, I see your point...
maybe he dosen't have to be completely chunky to get our point across, maybe theres another aesthetic way to do it.
